Opponoauts!! Soon I will drive P.A Highway 219 from approximately Interstate 90 to Interstate 80 in a southbound direction.
What are the ups and down of this highway? Any sites worth stopping at? Any good places for dinner?

I'm a bit more familiar with the southern portion of US 219. My grandparents used to live in Somerset, right on the Turnpike. I can tell you that, when you hit I-80, DuBois is pronounced "DooBoyce". Should be a really beautiful drive. Have fun.

The northern most "city" you'll encounter in PA on 219 is Bradford. It is the home of Zippo and Case Knives. You can see a very large lighter from the highway on the building and I do believe they have a museum at the factory.

Oh, and also farther down on 219, right before 80, there is a town called St. Mary's that has a fantastic little brewery called Straub. Straub has been a craft brewery since before it was a big thing and they recently started to make pale ales and whatnot. It looks like Google is taking you to 220 and straight through Altoona as well, and in the Altoona area there is an Italian restaurant called Marzoni's. They have a wood fired oven that they bake their pizzas in and they are also a microbrewery so they have their own beers on tap and you can get Growlers to go as well.

Just up the road! I haven't been there in years, but my dad was born there, and most of that side of my family still live in Somerset or close by (Friedens, Berlin). I have very fond memories of our family drives up from Norfolk to Somerset for Thanksgiving and the family gathering. Hell, I remember when my grandfather took us out to see "New 219" when they were modernizing it. Sadly, Somerset has turned into yet another ugly Turnpike exit, much like Breezewood.

Awesome, thanks for the tips. I copied and pasted them into an email to myself.
